The Bristol Fighter
Bristol Cars is quite simply the most enigmatic car company in recent history.
For years it was owned and managed by Tony Crook, an ex fighter pilot as well as racing driver.
I had the privilege of meeting him at the Bristol Cars showroom on Kensington Hight Street.
Then in 97 Toby Silverton a "jet spares millionare" acquired the company.
Not much changed for a while until in 99 the company announced it was to make a 200 mph + supercar....
The cost? Over £200,000. Cheap by Bugatti standards now, but in 2001!
It is thought that only 13 fighters exist?
Tony Crook owned one when I spoke to him.
It was recently up for sale....😊 if only i had the cash...
