BELAU

Talk to Phacemag
I Loved this from the first listen - Might be because I miss the sea so much it hurts! best pp
If you were to ask Belau (Peter Kedves and Krisztian Buzas) about their music, they would say that through their music they were trying to provide a shelter for the modern human - encouraging/representing a path through to individual self-awareness - by making modern and elegant electronic beats with longing lyrics driving towards a solace of mind. Forever inspired by the fundamental elements of nature, especially the infinite sea.
Well it was the sea, you see, that got me x

Hello guys, thanks for this. Firstly, can I ask about your early inspiration?
The main inspiration is travel, but it could a film, series, or just a picture and of course life. We have a concept, that each album capturing the vibe of a different geographical region around the world. The first one had a Mediterranean mood, this new has some Caribbean influentals.
And on production, are you hands on? Do you work with a producer?
We produce all songs by ourselves, it’s the most creative part of songwriting.
Where - how did you meet?
We were classmates many years ago.
About where you live, do you feel a part of a scene?
We’re from Budapest, Hungary, great city, we really like it, there are many lovely upcoming artists.
Was music your first love, often I talk to artists who have many artistic talents for want of a better word? Write, paint?
For us music was the first, Chris also a really good visual artist, but music is big part of our life.
Are you happy performing live, or do you prefer the studio?
Both, in these days when play live gigs is nearly impossible, because of the virus, would be great to have our album release tour.
Thank you - best pp
