Primal Scream
It's safe to say that Primal Scream have faced and been through a lot of turmoil since 1982 when they were formed (originally) in Glasgow by Bobby Gillespie (vocals) and Jim Beattie. Not least being the death of their much love friend and guitarist Robert Young who died tragically in 2014 under unknown circumstances ( but much speculation) at the too young age of 49.
In all this time though the band have consistently produced some of the best songs of their generation, releasing 11 studio albums and delighting their fanatical fans with tireless tours and festival appearances. I last saw them with Echo & The Bunnymen at the Teen Cancer Trust (Royal Albert Hall) it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to!

The band's current lineup consists of Gillespie, Andrew Innes (guitar), Martin Duffy (keyboards), Simone Butler (bass), and Darrin Mooney (drums). Barrie Cadogan has toured and recorded with the band since 2006 as a replacement after the departure of guitarist Robert "Throb" Young.
"They “survived narcotic oblivion, [and] personal trauma”, always capturing the mood of Great Britain at the time, with great singles and even better remixes and b-sides.
Now, after three decades, those singles, some of which have been sought-after for years, have finally been remastered and combined on one album. With “Maximum Rock’n’Roll”, Primal Scream present a sort of best-of of their 30+ year career, exciting fans all over the world with the prospect of a single compilation that was so eagerly awaited."
I'm still unsure about 'Remastered' songs. Very often I will return to the original version
but I have to say that this is a fantastic collection!

The Album
The Tour
"Loaded with a massive eclectic body of work, from their early C86 jangly guitar releases to the ambient baggy indie-rock sound of their Mercury Prize winning 'Screamadelica', their mid-career pastiche of the Rolling Stones, right through to their later more experimental dance-based material, Bobby Gillespie and the boys are forever movin' on up."
