On December 8th 1980 I was 15. I was in the kitchen at home listening to the radio before School when I heard the news.
John Lennon had been shot outside the Dakota Building in New York. I won't say by who because his name should never have been made famous.
At first I was in shock, then I was incredibly sad. I was just beginning to discover The Beatles and my Sgt Pepper album was still on my turn table. I remember hearing that they might reform for a concert and feeling excited.
​But now John Lennon was dead, taken away!

​John Lennon was only 40 years old when he was murdered, on a personal level my creativeness in the ten years since my 40th birthday has multiplied. Imagine what John Lennon could have gone on to achieve.... world peace?
That was tongue in cheek but you get my point.
December 8th 1980 was my Kennedy moment and I suspect I am not alone. x
