Rainy Days and Mondays was written by Roger Nichols and Paul Williams in 1971 when it was picked up and recorded by The Carpenters. It was the first track on the album Carpenters, more popularly known as the Tan Album. With help from the Wrecking Crew, who were LA session musicians the song went to number 2 on America's Billboard chart. It would take 22 years later for it to make the UK charts though, and still only made number 63. I love it, but then I love rainy days and Mondays anyway.
