​"Helmets", another collaboration with the Three Bears Production team, Dantae Johnson and Pete Boxsta Martin (Sugababes, Jessie J, DJ Marshmello), follows the success of Wolf's previous single, "Silence".  It also comes hot off the heels of Wolf's "Believer" being announced as the recent Grand Prize Winner of Unsigned Only's competition (https://unsignedonly.com/winners), whose judges included The Cure's Robert Smith and Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter, Aimee Mann.  They collectively described Anna Wolf as “truly a compelling and rare artist…a performer with passion and style, a singer with haunting beautiful vocals, and a songwriter with depth and vulnerability… one of the most magnetic and inspiring artists we have ever come across”.

​From a sonic point of view, "Helmets" sums up the energy, mood and feel that you will experience from an Anna Wolf live performance.
With a dark overtone and slow, building, tribal beats, "Helmets" is not a song about love as the lyrics might suggest.  Wolf says, "'Helmets' speaks of truly manifesting why it is important to love one self before being able to fully love another. The lyrics are various metaphors for finding one self in a position of self harm, but then soon to realise the importance of loving one self without condition.  It is the key to following a journey of self discovery without barriers.   Placing your Helmet on your head is a sign of strength and finding power in being vulnerable and speaking ones truth!"

The single is released alongside b-side track, "Start A War".  The track is about understanding what it means to truly forgive someone; forgiving someone is letting go of the thought that things could have been different.  "When someone close to you hurts you, it's extremely hard to not only forgive but also to know that no matter the "label " that you have placed on them (for example; mother, father, sister or best friend) that this description or label,  is merely something you have attached to them.  Just because they are a relative/close to you, doesn't mean that they must stay in ones life.  Some people are bad energies and sometimes it's ok to let go of them, let go of the attachment."

Wolf ended a superb 2019 with another sold out tour of her native South Africa. 2020 started out just the same; fast and strong with a UK tour, European festival and shows in the pipeline and planning showcases in the USA. Whilst the live shows are paused in light of the world's current situation, it hasn't stopped her from recording new music!  Whilst back in South Africa, she joined up once again with producer Matthew Fink to record what Wolf says is probably the best work she's done to date, a sound like no other.  If this is the case, we are in for a much bigger treat than what she's dished out so far!  Hard to believe, so watch this space…
