S.L.U.T.S - SEDUCING THE DEVIL
Ok, this is slightly out of the Phacemag comfort zone but...Oh joy for sub-culture! And they are brilliant! The band are touring soon supporting Michale Graves - The ex Misfits vocalist - I'll put a link for the tour info. Love it guys enjoy! -pauliepaul-
So Long Until the Séance (S.L.U.T.S)
Belfast, UK A frankenstein's monster of previous Belfast bands, S.L.U.T.S formed in late 2014 as a small experiment which later took a life of its own in the shape of a full band looking to perform and spread their trashy, sleazy take on horror inspired rock like a zombie horde. |
REVIVAL - EMINEM
OIL & WATER - LEE DEWYZE
You can judge a song and an album very quickly, well I can. .Oil & Water for example is the product of an amazing talent and it took me two minutes of my time to know this.
Thanks to my friends @TahoeOnstage they didn't know but they made me listen to this. Cheers guys - paulie |

VERSATILE - VAN MORRISON
A few artists have attempted the 'American Songbook' recently, notably Bob Dylan and Rod Stewart, with varying success. To its credit, Versatile has 6 original titles and although it's not a classic, I feel that it is sincere, if that makes sense? It's not a cash in... in fact here Van Morrison...well you've heard the expression 'Drive it like you stole it'? Here Van Morrison sings them like he wrote them.
But what swung it for me, was that most of this album was recorded in the lounges of various hotels in County Down. |
When I listen to Have I Told You Lately and albums like Avalon though it does beg the question why? -pp-

DEBUSSEY - SONATES & TRIO
Although it might be Clair De Lune you love and want to hear most, (Debussy's Suite bergamasque is made up of four movements, of which his beautiful Clair de lune is the third, after the 'Prélude' and 'Menuet', and before the 'Passepied'.)
This new recording is full of beauty. A lot of the masters later work here. Love him, listen to it, you can always watch the ending of Frankie and Johnnie later....paulie x |
