2/The Silver Screen! (do yourself a favour click the Odd Couple soundtrack as you read....❤️ )
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is arguably the start of the 'Buddy' movie. Although i think that was an accident.
Directed by George Roy Hill in 1969 with nine wins it currently holds the record for the most British Academy Awards (BAFTAs). It won for film, actor (Robert Redford), actress (Katharine Ross, direction (George Roy Hill), screenplay..... Well you get the message i'm not listing them all. Because i'm not writing about that.
Steve McQueen accepted the role of Sundance, with Newman as Butch Cassidy. Whatever the truth is about billing and who would come first in the title... you'll have to ask Paul. But Steve McQueen dropped out.
Some confusion crops up here because i've read that Redford was cast as Butch, and on his suggestion they swapped roles.. It is a masterpiece, and as partnerships go! ☑️
