If you have ever read Ray Davies book 'Americana' you will be aware of his love for American culture from an early age.
This album is another tribute to that love, a musical version. Something he does quite well..... and he has. His backing band The Jayhawks are as American as blueberry pie. And it's the songs they duet on that i love most. Most notably A Long Drive Home To Tarzana which as a hint of Dylan and even a touch of Beatles ... Love it. Listen and decide for yourself, and if you haven't read the book... paulie ps/ while your at it listen to Waterloo Sunset ❣️ |
